The old mail and web server (tanana) has now been powered off. If you find that there is something on it that wasn't migrated and you absolutely need, contact us for assistance.

The January/February 2010 Migration Notes are still available.

26 Feb 2010

During the migration there was a problem with the antispam filters in the spam score header check. The configuration was corrected but in order to make it take effect from your account, you must regenerate your filter.

The easiest way to do this is:

  1. Log into Web Mail.
  2. In the left pane, click on Mail --> Filters
  3. In the main (center) pane, if your Spam Filter rule has a green checkmark to its right, click on the checkmark. This will disable the rule. It will turn to a red "X". (If it was already a red "X" then your Spam Filter rule was unaffected by this configuration error and you are done.)
  4. Reenable the Spam Filter rule by clicking on the red "X". Your filter rules have now been updated with the corrected configuration.

13 Feb 2010

Some people were reporting problems with their stand-alone mail clients after the migration. This may be due to the updated SSL certificates. You may need to remove the old SSL certificate from your email client's cache. The GNO Consortium provides information on how to remove obsolete SSL certificates.

In the interest of supporting clients (like Mac Mail) that seem to have problems with SMTP+TLS, SMTP+SSL is now permitted over the standard port (465/tcp).

Instructions have been added on how to configure your Mac Mail client.

19 Mar 2010

The old mailserver will be powered down the middle of next week (around 24 March 2010). If you have not yet pulled off your old webmail address book and wish to do so, you only have until then to complete the task.

The system migration is essentially complete (there may be minor changes over the next few days as things shake out). If you experience any problems with mail or hosted web pages, please contact postmaster at taiga.ca. Alternately, for the next few days, you can also phone the number that was provided to you prior to the system migration.

10 Feb 2010

The system migration is scheduled to occur Thursday 11 February 2010, nominally between the hours of 0900 and 1700 MST. This page will be updated when the migration is complete.

Mail and web services will experience intermittent and/or extended unavailability during this time.

05 Feb 2010 System updates are in progress. Mail and web services will be moving to a new server. Please see the January/February 2010 Migration Notes for details.
